European Bison Reserve

Only found in the wild in Poland. European bison have been reintroduce to La Margeride where they live in semi-wild conditions in an area of over 170 hectares.
They can be observed in their natural habitat during a 50 minute ride in a horse-drawn carriage or in a sleigh in winter.

The reserve also has a museum explaining the history of this survivor from prehistoric times.

Mende Cathedral

At the start of the hundred Years War in 1368, Pope Urban V, who was from Gévaudan, decide to built this cathedral. In the 16th century, its great flamboyant 84m bell-tower was erected by François de la Rovere. It was subsequently decorated with Aubusson tapestries wich date from 1706.
The 4th century crypt of Saint Privat is one of the oldest known in France.

The Partly-restored chateau and village form a lovely mediaeval assembly. The church used to be the chapel of the chateau wich goes back as the 13th century. A funicular will take you through a gallery 200 metres log to a hall which could hold the cathedral Notre Dame of Paris without any trouble. 37	DuGuesclin Museum
The Duguesclin museum is on the village square. Its collection of artefacts, models and illustrations brings back to life the great constable in his time. He arrived with his troops in 1380 to besiege the English and soldier of Pierre de galard who where holding Chateauneuf ands its fortress. He is said to have died after drinking water that was too cold from the fountain of Pré de la Glauze.

The antique urban area of Anderitum, the Gallo-Roman capital of the Gabales, has been the site of archaeological excavations since the 19th century. The exhibition room belons to the Ignon Fabre departmental museum and displays two centuries of finds (column shfts, statuettes, fragments of works of art, bronze artefacts, remains of thermae and its centrepiece, the statue of the Gallo-Roman god Sucellus discovered on the site).

Between Millau and the Aigoual Mount, Visit the underground river "*Le Bonheur*". The abyss of Bramabiau has no modesty of a discreet entrance.
